Earlier today, Senator Neil Riser spoke to voters at a candidate forum at the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce meeting.
“This nation is at a crossroads,” Riser told the crowd. “Do you think you are more free today than you were twenty years ago…or ten years ago? I think an even better question is…are you more free today than even a year ago?” he asked. “I say no…that we are not. Our constitutional rights are being infringed upon, and I will go to Washington D.C. and carry the same leadership skills that I have carried here in Louisiana.”
Riser addressed the disastrous effect Obamacare will have on Louisiana families and businesses, the federal government’s blatant invasion of our privacy through the recent NSA scandals, and the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups.
“It has been an honor to discuss issues close to the hearts of voters across the 5th District,” Riser said after the forum. “As I travel, I hear a clear and concise message across the district: People are ready for the federal government to get out of their lives, their businesses, and certainly their healthcare. They are looking for a congressman who has the backbone to stand up to the Washington establishment, and I am that man.”
